Short Abstract on President George Washington

A style of leadership can determine a leader’s influence on a nation. This paper surveys the leadership style of George Washington as the first president of the United State and how he shaped America as a nation. He had a number of styles that he employed in different situations. For one, he was diplomatic. Secondly, he was a practical or rather a pragmatic leader. And lastly, he was one who could delegate his work to others.

Washington also contributed towards the ratification of the American constitution and even in forming the initial structures of government. Further, he was instrumental in defining the American foreign relations policy that has outlived him even to date.

George Washington is touted as having steered the United States in its infant years as a nation. It is for this reason that he is often referred to as the father of the nation. The phrase also stems from the fact that he was the first president of the country.

This essay will attempt to look at his leadership style and marrying this with how he shaped the American nation. This comes from the way the man conducted his affairs and even from some of his quotations.
